About Verra Mobility
As cities become smarter, sustainability becomes more important, and mobility becomes more complex, connected, and automated, Verra Mobility continuously strives to make life safer and easier on the road ahead. They provide their Commercial Services customers with technology to help them manage tolls, enforcements and violations.
Verra Mobility has a global presence in more than fifteen countries and extensive partnerships with leading toll authorities, rental car fleet companies like Hertz, Enterprise, or Sixt, and with local and national governments. This positions them as a recognized leader in the European smart mobility sector.
To improve its operations, Verra Mobility’s strategy is to expand its capacity for data analysis. Their new Data Analyst will play a vital role in making informed decisions based on data-driven insights, and improving existing and newly developed products and services.
Vacancy: Data Analyst
A data-driven culture is already ingrained at Verra Mobility Europe, where they currently use a managed data platform with a normalized data model and access to all crucial data. To achieve their next growth phase and solidify their position as a market leader in Europe, they are enhancing their Data Analytics capacity.
The Data Analyst will own their domain, and take data-driven insights, decision-making, forecasting, and enhancements at Verra Mobility to the next level. This role will collaborate stakeholders across the organization to understand their business problems, and translate their questions into data-driven answers and solutions. They will be able to tell the story behind the numbers, and explain what happened, why it happened, and what can be anticipated in the future — effectively communicating across all levels and departments.
On a practical level, this role will import, clean, transform, validate or model data, as well as create easy-to-understand visual representations, such as scorecards and dashboards, to effectively communicate insights. The Data Analyst will interpret data analysis results, and offer actionable insights and their recommendations. By ensuring data accuracy and integrity, they will support departmental performance improvement through data insights, and contribute to strategic planning and decision-making processes.
“In my role, I focus a lot on our existing client base; keeping them healthy, keeping them happy — sometimes by giving them feedback such as: ‘We agreed on these SLAs, but based on our data it’s not getting you the results you actually need — so we propose to change that.’ It’s insights in what we should start, stop, and continue that I would expect this role to come up with, on a far more regular basis than we are currently able to.” – Annemieke Heeren, Director of Operations for Verra Mobility Amsterdam
The Data Analyst will join the Amsterdam-based Operations Team, reporting directly to the Director of Operations. The team of about forty people work in offices across Europe — mainly the UK, Hungary, and Spain — and in various remote locations.
The Operations Team enjoys working in a fun, get-it-done-together culture and only work in the office on Mondays and Thursdays. They also experience a lot of autonomy and freedom, along with a lot of responsibility.
The Data Analyst will work closely with their US counterparts, as well as people from the Product, Commercial, and Finance departments to answer business questions and deliver data insights. Along with technical insight and a proven track record of asking the right questions, the new Data Analyst must be a strong communicator that connects with stakeholders company-wide, from entry level to senior leaders.
